The hills began immediately on leaving Maastricht, but not too bad. Climbed 2,000 feet in about 12 miles, past a large American cemetery in the North of Belgium. Much cooler here in the Ardennes and looking forward to a good sleep on the only night in Belgium. Bed, breakfast & dinner is running 625 Belgian Francs, about $15.75, or $2.50 less than Holland. Tomorrow booked into the hostel in Ettelbruck, Luxembourg, where dinner is mercifully at 7, instead of the normal 6 in Holland, leaving more time to get there. First time in Luxembourg by bike so it should be fun.

Took a 2 day break in Maastricht after 6 of 7 days riding and had an easy 90 km today, so I feel able for a 5 or 6 day stretch of riding.  This weekend is the 15th of August, the biggest weekend of the summer in France, so finding a hostel on my route could be a problem.

The beautiful sunny weather continues.
